Young and old, wealthy or of modest means — everyone can make a difference in the quality of life for our region with a contribution to the Highland Area Community Foundation.
Gifts of any size may be given to the Fund for Public Giving, an unrestricted component fund of the Foundation's permanent endowment. Income from the Fund is used to make a variety of grants addressing the community's needs.
The Sustaining Membership Program has various levels of membership – with your gift going directly to the general grants program each year. See Gift Form in the Gifts Section for membership levels. 2006-2007 Sustaining Members are listed in this section following the list of Funds.
For a minimum of $10,000, four types of funds can be created. These funds may be completed over a 10-year period. They are:
Memorial/honorarium gifts are thoughtful ways to remember special people. Along with the remembrance of each person, these gifts enable others in the community to benefit yet again from each of these individual's lives.
Individuals, organizations, and corporations contribute any amount to the Administrative Fund to provide ongoing administrative support for the Foundation.

This Donor Advised Fund was established September 14, 1998 by the Highland Civic Woman's Club in memory of Geralyn M. Rehkemper. The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship grants to an educational institution providing the education or training of an individual seeking higher education.

The Highland Area Community Foundation also manages various pass through funds including Hard Road Theatre Productions, Highland Arts Council, Highland Regional Arboretum, Downtown Improvement Group, Dana Deibert Memorial Scholarship Fund, Friends of Friends Fighting Cancer, T.A.K. PTO Latchkey Program and Helicopter Pad Project.
